December 2023 Visa Bulletin

Department of State (DOS) release a visa bulletin every month for immigration purpose of the foreign. We have a recent visa bulletin of December, which is almost similar to the November Visa Bulletin. We didn’t see a change for all types of immigration categories. For example, EB-2 NIW, dates are the same as of November for I-485. DOS released the December 2023 visa bulletin (see link here). USCIS decided to use the Dates for Filing chart for the I-485 filing in December 2023. (see link here).

In this short post, we are going to cover I-485 filing and when your pending I-485 can be approved or your pending IVP can be scheduled for an interview or approved.

 

If you want to file a new I-485 application.

Since USCIS chose Dates for Filing chart for the purpose of filing I-485 in December, your priority date must be earlier than dates listed in the chart below for you to be eligible for filing an I-485 based on your 140 categories and your country of birth. We did not see a massive change in the visa bulletin of December 2023 Visa Bulletin as compared to November. Please see the chart below:

For EB1A and EB1B, the good news is that both are current. However, Chinese and Indian born citizens need to wait for an interview. Please see dates in the table above.
